FAQ

Sizing & Fit

How do I know a bracelet will fit? Measure your wrist with a paper strip, just below the wrist bone, in centimeters, then see Bracelets for the snug/comfortable/loose fit table. Our standard 18cm adjustable strands fit roughly 16-17.5cm wrists comfortably. Outside that range, message us before ordering and we'll arrange re-stringing to size.

What do bead millimeters mean in real life? 6-8mm is the classic strand, 10-12mm the everyday statement, 15-20mm the wrist-presence pieces, with the caveat that large beads fit tighter than the strand length suggests (see Bracelets).

Materials & Safety

Is cinnabar safe to wear? Genuine cinnabar lacquer contains mercury (a small, stable, insoluble fraction of the piece), and it's safe with a short rule list: never heat it, never sand it, keep it from small children, and treat genuine pieces as occasional-wear. Most "cinnabar" beads sold today are mercury-free resin composite. The full, plain-spoken version: Cinnabar Safety.

Is your bone jewelry ethically sourced? Yes: all of it is yak bone and horn, a byproduct of the domesticated yak's food economy. The animals are never killed for beads. The full sourcing statement: Our Materials Sourcing.

Do the beads have powers? Will a Dzi protect me? We sell heritage, not outcomes. The traditions are real and we describe them faithfully. What a bead will do, we won't promise. The full position is Claims We Don't Make, and it's the page this shop is built on.

Authenticity

Are your Dzi beads ancient? No, and we say so on every listing: they're modern beads, see the tier breakdown at Tibetan vs. Modern. The meanings belong to the patterns, not the age.

Is the turquoise natural? Per listing: solid natural, stabilized natural, or composite, each labeled (see Turquoise). Stabilized is standard practice. Composite is a different product. Both are disclosed.

How can I tell if my amber is real? Salt water, UV, and static tests at home, see the amber section of Authenticity Guides.

Orders & Care

Can you restring or resize a piece? Yes, routinely. Message us. Measuring first beats guessing after (see Bracelets).

How do I care for my piece? Five rules cover most of it. Each material page carries the specifics: Caring for Your Piece.

Do you offer blessings or consecration? We do not claim undocumented consecration for anything we sell, but we do offer documented blessings at temples, including in-person visits with video (when permitted) at locations such as Luoyang's White Horse Temple.
