Collection: Gaiwans & Teapots

A gaiwan is a Chinese lidded bowl without a handle, used for the infusion of tea leaves and the consumption of tea. It was invented during the Ming Dynasty and typically consists of a bowl, a lid, and a saucer/plate. Gaiwans are more typically more commonly used in China than teapots largely due to their elegant appearance, ease of cleaning, and greater control.
