Handpainted with "daqi", a natural lacquer, a traditional Chinese material harvested from lacquer trees that has been used for over 8,000 years. Each build is build up layer by layer with dozens of coats of lacquer, often over an ebony core, and then polished to a deep shine. This piece of wearable art feels simultaneously ancient and modern.
