Traditional Tibetan Mala Necklace

This necklace is not just any necklace - it is a Mala. A Mala (garland / rosery) is a string of beads used to count mantras in prayer or meditation. A true Mala should contain 108 beads, along with a pendant or guru bead. 

This Mala consists of nearly entirely handmade beads directly from Tibet. The amber-colored resin-cast beads are adorned with turquoise and cinnabar as is commonly found in Tibetan jewelry and artwork. 

Every piece and part of this piece has meaning, from the chosen beads to the number of them, to the number of beads in each section, to the number of sections. If there is one word to be used in the creation of a true Mala it should be "intention", as every single aspect of a Mala is intentional and chosen with deep thought and consideration. It's not just a necklace, it's a piece of art.
