Two woods, one prayer: half the strand warm Agar Wood, half fragrant sandalwood, meeting at a carved sandalwood diffuser pendant in the shape of a breathable gourd (葫芦, hu lu) that unscrews to hold scent. Tuck shavings of either wood inside and the piece breathes fragrance for hours. Two carved cinnabar ruyi (如意, ru yi, "as you wish"), the scepter of granted wishes, rest among turquoise accents, while carved prayer-hands beads clasp at the top of the strand and eight polished bodhi seeds (菩提子, pu ti zi) close the back. Meaning: Ruyi means as-you-wish, and the two cinnabar charms wish fortune on the wearer. The gourd's name sounds like fortune and prosperity (福禄, fu lu) in Chinese: a lucky shape doing practical work. The two woods balance resin depth against soft sweetness.
Scent: Two woods at once: agar's resin depth on one half, sandalwood's soft sweetness on the other. The diffuser pendant lets you add scent deliberately. Strength varies by piece.
Feel: Half dense and resinous, half soft and fragrant, meeting at a carved pendant that unscrews in your hand: a piece designed to be handled.
Care: Two woods, cinnabar, turquoise. No heat. No soaking. Keep turquoise from oils and lotion. Dry cloth only.
